Version
2.0.2 Update/Patch Issues
*
The Patch to upgrade version 2.0.0 - 2.0.1 to the Current
version of 2.0.2 requires Windows Installer 2.0 for the patch to
install correctly. Alternatively, you may download the new
installation from the download page and then uninstall your
existing version of PQBrowser and then install the new
version (you will not loose your settings).
* Windows
2000 Users: The full installation of PQBrowser
2.0.0 or higher should have installed v2 of Windows
Installer. This is a function of Windows
Installer, not the PQBrowser installation. However,
we've been finding that on Windows 2000 this is not happening.
You can download the self executing patch from the Downloads
page, it will install the correct version of Windows
Installer and the install the patch.
* To
determine your Windows Installer Version On Windows NT or
Windows 2000: Use Windows Explorer to open your WINNT\System32
directory and right-click on MSIEXEC.EXE, then select
Properties. Now Select the Version Tab.
* To
determine your Windows Installer Version On Windows 95/95/Me:
Use Windows Explorer to open your Windows\System directory and
right-click on MSIEXEC.EXE, then select Properties. Now
Select the Version Tab.
* To
Download Windows Installer v2.0 for 95/98/Me from
Microsoft (click

My
95, 98, or NT Computer Locked up after the reboot during
installation.
Issues
with Computer Lockups on 95, 98, & NT during
Installation.
This
applies to the following conditions:
1.
Installing PQBrowser on Windows 95, 98, or NT
and
2.
Microsoft Windows Installer®
has installed itself because it was not previously installed
and
3.
it required a reboot before the installation of PQBrowser
could continue.
We
have seen instances where the computer locked up after the
reboot and displayed a window indicating that Microsoft
Windows Installer® was continuing the
installation, but the computer is really locked up.
If
this happens, simply turn off the computer and restart it.
After the computer has finished booting up, restart the
installation by double-clicking on the file you downloaded to
install PQBrowser (step #2 in Installation
Instructions) - the installation will then
continue correctly.

I
can't define <Alt><F6> as a Hotkey
<Alt><F6>
is a system command that switches between child windows of the
open application. PQBrowser cannot use <Alt><F6>
in Windows 95 or Windows 98,
however, if you're using Windows NT or Windows 2000
<Alt><F6> will function as a Hotkey.

How
to manually install a patch file.
You should not have to
manually install a patch file - PQBrowser checks for
updates about once a day when it's first started. If an
update is available you will be prompted to install it.
You can force an update check by selecting Help|Check
for PQBrowser Updates from the menu.
Windows 2000?
If the patch file does not update the PQBrowser
installation to the correct version, and you're running Windows
2000, see the section on Installation
Issues.
If for some reason you
cannot get the update to install correctly from inside of PQBrowser
then, you can install it manually. If manual
installation fails, then Uninstall the old version and download
the new version and install it.
Manual
Patch Installation
1.
Download the latest Patch file from the Downloads
Page. The patch file is now a
program the will perform the necessary steps for you.
Simply Download it and run it.
Again, if you're running Windows 2000, see the section on Installation
Issues.

Determining
if an error is caused by PQBrowser or by the Web Page
Some
errors are caused by the web page that you're viewing or trying
to view. If you're getting an error, or if the link you're
trying to follow does not perform as expected, try the
following. Load Internet Explorer and browse
to the same web page and perform the same actions. If the
error occurs in Internet Explorer as well as in PQBrowser,
then the error is in the web page and not the browser.
However, if the error does not occur in Internet Explorer,
then it may be a problem in PQBrowser and you
should e-mail us the URL of the web page that you're on and what
actions you took to generate the error. See below for how
to contact Technical Support. Please see the
above section on Errors caused by Popup Control before e-mail
support.

I
Receive the Error "No CE Signature found"
trying to run the downloaded installation file.
This
is caused by a corrupted installation file. The
installation file that is downloaded from our web site is a
self-decompressing compressed file. When it is executed,
it first decompresses itself and then starts the installation
program. This error is caused by the self check that is
built into the decompression routine. Simply delete the
file from your hard drive and download the file again.

I
Receive errors at the end of Patch File Downloads
This
issue has been resolved in version 2.0.4
When using the Image Download function of Mark
Images for Download, or, when downloading patches and updates,
you may receive errors at the end of large file transfers.
This does not occur on all systems. We're working on
finding a solution - the error occurs in the WinSock layer and
seems to effect fast computers on fast internet connections with
IE 5.5. If you're receiving this error while trying to
download a patch, please see the 202
Patch Section in the Support Page. PLEASE E-MAIL USE
YOUR INFORMATION IF YOU'RE RECEIVING THIS ERROR (see
the section above on e-mail us your version information)
