Installer®. Microsoft Windows
Installer®
comes pre-installed with Windows 2000, but does NOT
come with Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.
If you're installing
on Windows 95, 98,
or NT, the first step in the installation process is to install
Microsoft Windows Installer®: This
will happen automatically, you don't need to download or do anything,
however you will be required to reboot you computer (see Note
below). The installation of
will then
automatically continue after the computer has been
restarted.
1.
Download installation file from the download
page.
2.
Save the file to your local hard drive and remember or make note
of the location you save the file to. The file is usually named
something similar to PQBrowser.EXE. Download it to a
temporary location or a location such as c:\disks\pqbrowser on
your local pc.
3.
After the file has been completely downloaded, use Windows
Explorer to locate the file and then double-click on it to run
the setup program. You will see a display like the screen
capture shown in Figure 1 below.

If installing on Windows 95, 98, or NT, AND Microsoft
Windows Installer® has not previously been
installed, then Microsoft Windows Installer®
will be installed first (automatically) and a reboot will be
required (See Note Below).
5.
Follow the prompts during the installation of
to choose the installation location, agree to the license agreement,
etc.
6.
When finished, some systems will required another reboot.
