Custom
Automated Web Browsers
We can build Custom Versions of
our
web browser product designed to automated repetitive
browsing tasks or perform specialized functionality.
For example, a customer made repetitive
searches of an image database web site. They would
then copy and paste the text (image captions) into a
database and save the images to their local hard
drive. We created a custom version of
that allowed them to enter their search parameters into
a dialog box, then the browser would automatically log into
the web site, perform the search (which usually resulted in
multiple pages of results, usually between 500 and 800
images) and then harvest the text into a local MS Access
database and download the images automatically.
Using this modified version of
,
they could perform in 20 or 30 minutes a job that previously took
a person several days.
(This customer had a membership to the image
archive web site giving them the legal right to reuse the
content in this way.)
